About Hope Church

Hope Church is a missional church that purposes to impact the community of Cleburne with the love of Christ. The purpose of Hope Church is to build the Kingdom of God one person at a time. We will pastor people and not programs. We will intentionally invest into the lives of everyone in which we connect. Hope Church will partner with the community of Johnson County and Cleburne in order to impact the lives of the unchurched, dechurched and those that have been marginalized.

The overarching mission of HC is found in all three of the synoptic gospels. You shall love the Lord your God with every part of your being (heart, soul, mind, strength) and you shall love your neighbor as you love yourself. (Matthew 22:37-40, Mark 12:29-31, Luke 10:27-37) Simply put Love God | Love Others. Hope Church is and will be dedicated to this simple truth.

Core Values

Prayer – We must pray. Prayer is an indispensable part of every believer’s life and relationship with Christ. Throughout scripture we are instructed and commanded to pray and seek the face of the Lord.

Worship – Worship is an essential discipline in the life of every believer. It is through an active worship life that we connect with God deeply. Worship is not just singing hymns for 15 minutes one day a week, but it is a way of life that involves generosity and sacrificial serving. Believers are instructed to present our bodies as a living sacrifice that is holy and pleasing to the Lord.

Relationships – We must be intentional in building relationships that are meaningful. We must build up and sharpen one another. The key word here is intentional. We live in a fast-paced world that does not allow room for the intentional building of relationships. We must slow the pace and make room for the people in our community.

Missional – What is missional? Missional is action. Missional is discovering the needs of the community and purposefully meeting those needs with the love and power of Christ. It means we will not wait for those that are in need to come to us, but we will resolutely engage our community for Christ. We will discover the needs of our community and accept the challenge of meeting those needs.

Truth – We will teach, admonish, encourage, correct, and equip all with the truth of God’s word so that all will be equipped for every good work. We will be careful to be doers of the word and not hearers only.
